About Us
Reuniting lost dogs with the families who love them
Lost Dogs of Wisconsin is a 100% volunteer-run nonprofit with one mission: to reunite lost dogs with the families who love them.

It all started with a small group of women who saw a heartbreaking need. Time and again, they watched frantic dog owners struggle, unsure of what to do or where to turn after their pet went missing. So these women stepped in. They created flyers, offered guidance, shared posts on social media, and provided steady support—doing everything in their power to bring dogs back home.

And it worked.

As word spread, more families began reaching out for help. More volunteers stepped forward. And what began as a grassroots effort quickly grew into Lost Dogs of Wisconsin: a statewide, trusted network dedicated to lost dog recovery.

Since our founding, we’ve helped thousands of dogs make it home safely, sometimes after days, sometimes after weeks or even months.

Lost Dogs of Wisconsin is a virtual organization made up of passionate, everyday people who give their time and energy to helping others through what is often one of the scariest moments of their lives. We don’t have a shelter or facility, and we never take possession of animals. Instead, we provide free tools, guidance, and emotional support to help both pet owners and finders navigate the process of getting a dog safely home.

We partner with shelters, animal control officers, and an international lost-and-found pet database called Pet FBI, so every dog has the best possible chance of being seen and found.
